Yep. The server itself is this guy:

But I hope to make it this jetway box in the near future:

What about the server itself? Just a standard desktop, or some more embedded-type thing?

Doug,

A friend had given me a wireless-pci card, that just happened to have an atheros chipset in it. pciconf shows it as:

  ath0@pci0:0:5:0:        class=0x020000 card=0x00261737 chip=0x0013168c  rev=0x01 hdr=0x00
    vendor     = 'Atheros Communications Inc.'
    device     = 'AR5212, AR5213 802.11a/b/g Wireless Adapter'
    class      = network
    subclass   = ethernet

I recommend the Atheros stuff, only because I have had great luck with it on FreeBSD. I have a Atheros MiniPCI card in my laptop as well that works great.

What hardware did you use for your FreeBSD WAP? I'd like to do something similar so I can run multiple BSSIDs on separate VLANs (an open one that just goes to the Internet, rate limited; and a second WPA2-enabled one that is bridged to my LAN).
