And, my wrist hurts. It’s just regular pain. Nothing crazy.
But it occurred to me, how very real Carpal Tunnel is for people in my field.
How many readers here, have either carpal tunnel, or some for my hand/wrist/arm pain they think is related to using a computer?
I haven’t had much problem in a while. And I think tonight is just something arbitrary, so I am going to say, that I have no pain as a result of the massive amounts of time I spend at the keyboard.
What say you?
Not me! One of the benefits of an unorthodox typing method. Eat that, home row bitches!
I’m with Lon. The “right” way to type is what causes carpal tunnel. I type without bending my wrists much at all, having learned my own method starting at age 5.
I know that I’m not in your field, but I’d like to suggest that you try typing with your toes. I’d like it. Denny’s will give you a free grand slam for it!!! You’ll have to shove the ham to her plate.
I used to have a rough time with my wrists and hands from typing way to much. I finally eliminated this by going to get my forearms stripped from a massage therapist who specializes in sports injuries. Since then, my arms feel like I am a teenager again.
My wrists used to bother me until I started using a wrist rest and mousepad with a wrist rest. Also I have to position my mousepad far enough back on my desk so that my elbow is resting on the desk too when I’m mousing around. If I don’t then i get wrist and arm pain. Things have been great since I made those changes.
