Training Log 02.12.08
After the 5 miles on Sunday, and the 9 mile walk yesterday I wanted to keep the pressure on today. Then I woke up some pretty snowy conditions.
No matter, I walked over to the barracks and ran my 3 miles there and then walked back.
It’s about 1.4 miles from my house to the barracks giving me over 2.5 miles walking in addition to the 3 mile workout.
The 3 miles was slow. I was feeling strong, but not fast and the snow kind of dictated that I slow down anyway. It was fun. Amusingly there was another guy over there at the same time doing some run/walking. I passed him and he didn’t acknowledge me.
Mile Splits: 10:09, 9:46, 10:15
Some Stats:
Distance: 3.00
Time: 30:11 (pace: 10:04)
Average Heart Rate: 149 /* indicating more effort than the pace does…tired? getting sick? snow? */
Calories Burned: 440
Like a blacksmith to the forge people.
I’m guessing you are a bit fatigued. The HR for mile 3 was 1 BPM higher than mile 2 despite being 30 seconds slower. If the path was getting slicker, the slipping could be adding to the HR rise as well.
Not bad.. You managed to keep it slow. That’s good for the snowy conditions. I don’t think I managed that today. I ran faster than I wanted. I think I did anyway. Wasn’t wearing a watch.
