The case for carafes

Seriously, diners of the world. Listen up. Colonial Park Diner gives you a carafe of coffee when you order coffee. This is clutch. I don’t like to have people pouring coffee in my cup when it’s half full. They have messed up the delicate balance of cream and sugar that I hand crafted. I am then forced to recreate the taste but with some cream and sugar already in the cup. With the carafe, I don’t have to worry about that. I can finish my cup, and then, and ONLY then, do I pour more coffee.

They also do the smooth move of giving tea drinkers a pot of tea.

You probably know that I’m damn serious about all things coffee. I love the carafe. IHOP and Village Inn bring a carafe when I order a cup, and they hold a special place in my coffee warmed heart. And I live closer to them :) If I’m ever out that way, these folks deserve a visit.

I agree. I don’t like my coffee:milk:sugar ratios messed with either by introducing more coffee to my well-balanced cup.

  3. Maggie, if you are ever out this way, let me know. I will buy you and Tom a vat of coffee there :)
