I agree with you that the rules are unacceptable. In which CD are those rules found? I use Yahoo’s music service (like iTunes) and for $5 pre month I can listen to whatever whenever and for 79 cents each I can download and burn a track. That includes all of Coldplay’s albums. That seems odd to me that I can do more things with the downloaded track than I can with the CD. (Yes, the WMA format tracks have DRM).
Hey there Don,
It appears that that particular record is their X&Y album. However further review seems to indicate this maybe a Virgin records “new thing”.
So do you like yahoo? I have been desiring a music service. I was hoping to find one who had decent prices and a non-offensive set-up (ex..not being able to listen to the music after you stop subscribing, or renting music).
Yahoo music pros: $5/month, huge music library, easy-to-use song download client, relatively cheap per-song cost to keep forever. Cons: Windows-only client (req’d), downloaded tunes that you don’t pay 79cents each for expire a month after cancelling service. More info here: http://music.yahoo.com/musicengine/
This really irks me. The RIAA cartel wants us to buy music, and we can’t even use it as we see fit. *sighs*
hey nate! i showed up to cplug for the first time in a long time~ just so you know, it’s not as funny without you there…
Hey there Stevie! Yeah, I hope to make the next one or the one after. Hope all is well!
