Day 100

Published by Nathan Powell on October 10, 2007 10:02 am under smoking

Just wanted to check in with anyone who is interested. Today is the 100th day in a row I won’t smoke.

I still want to smoke, and that can be depressing. The depressing part comes from having incontrovertible empirical data that my life is better than it was, while still having the urge to smoke. I wish that part would go away, but if wishes and buts were berries and nuts, we’d all have a bowl of granola.

Stay strong.

    Congratulations! I hope it’s the first 100 of 25000.

Nathan, you rock! I’m just a tiny bit ahead of you on the path, and yep, I agree, it sure will be nice when I don’t even want to smoke at all. At least overall it’s not too bad, and certainly better than it was, but if I could get away with smoking without consequence, I can assure you that I would be doing it. I do believe it will keep getting better, though, for both of us.

Congrats on the big 100! Triple digits, baby!

Human, I see you only wish me to stop smoking for 68.5 years. I suppose you think I’ll only live to be 104.

Maggie! Thanks so much for the kind words. I still read your posts everyday to keep track of your quit too. We should both be proud of ourselves!

Awesome! That’s great. A bowl of granola sounds really good right about now too.

Really, you still want to smoke with day 100 under your belt? I feel very fortunate then cause I’m just under my 3 week mark and I’m not interested in smoking anymore.
Stick with it, you’ve already done it, 100+ days without a cigarette - Congrats!!!

I felt the same way a few days ago (109) seems more time is needed in my case.
