HH10K W1D7
Week one is at a close for the 10K training plan. Today was a 3 miler. John and I planned to run this together to keep the motivation up. He couldn’t get there till 10:45ish, so by the time we hit the barracks it was HAWT. We wanted to keep the pace down, but really we struggled with that as the run went on we would be talking and running and I would look down and see my heart rate was over the aerobic limit, so we’d have to slow down, only to speed up again a little while later. I’m not complaining (for once) it was a good workout.
I had the new kicks on for this, and they performed admirably. I was skeptical, I figured since I liked them, karma would ensure they would destroy my feet. Not the case at all. No pain, no pinch points. It honestly felt like the stability portion was keeping my foot rolling to a minimum. What really makes me think they worked was that, a right now my hips hurt, but my shins don’t. I think that is because my hips were getting worked in a different way, while my shins weren’t getting tugged on so hard. The true test of a running shoe is how it performs as time goes on, but so far so good.
