oh brother! That seems rather ridiculous, especially since the penny is on it’s way to a plastic grave anyway. Another generation or two and carrying money will be very abnormal and this bill will look just as stupid.
I wonder which wastes more money: (a) making pennies at 1.4 cents each, or (b) passing this legislation, reprogramming or replacing all sorts of cash registers, ATMs, calculators, etc., settling lawsuits that are sure to come from adjusting prices, etc.? Probably option (b).
Also, I wonder if things like paychecks would get rounded. If so, to whom does the rounded off cents go?

Sounds like he needs someone to remind him that he can do better. With a life like his, he should be working on something other than the coming Penny Crisis.
